Why, for whom?

Kitesurfing course plan Level 2 - Intermediate

Module 2 – Intermediate is designed for those who have already taken an introduction to kitesurfing and who have mastered all the prerequisites of Module 1 – Discovery

If you have already mastered the basics in Module 2 – Intermediate, learn to ride upwind and become an independent kiteboarder with Module 3 – Independent

The Body-Drag in Kitesurfing

One of the key steps in this course is to perform the body-drag effectively.
When you are sailing, you will sometimes lose your board in front or behind you.
To recover it, it is imperative to be able to go up or down the wind using only your kite and your body.

The body-drag with the board allows you, when there is a shore-break, to cross the zone where the waves break, in order to position yourself easily at the waterstart.

No Board Leash Please !

Do not give in to the board leash!
On the one hand it is strictly forbidden in most federations as it represents a danger, and on the other, it strongly limits the progression of kitesurfers.

It is essential to master the body-drag in all conditions to be considered as an autonomous kitesurfer.

Steady-Pull & Waterstart

Board on your feet, kite on the edge of the window; you are ready to do your first kitesurfing waterstart.

The objective is to create traction by progressively reaching the power zone of your kite, in order to get out of the water, and start gliding smoothly.

Steady-Pull is the key!

All your training has conditioned you for this decisive moment, the waterstart.

In order to succeed in your waterstarts en kitesurf, your position in the water must be perfect. A parallel between your shoulders, the board and your kite.

You are perfectly aligned, you gradually start to move the kite to enter the power zone.
