What age can you start kitesurfing?

At our school, children can start kitesurfing from the age of 7. But more than age, weight (minimum 30 kg) and the ability to learn while having fun are what really matter.

We use teaching methods adapted for kids: games, mini-challenges, and simple explanations. The equipment is also specifically designed for them: suitable kites, shorter lines, and gear that fits their size.

In short: a child can start kitesurfing from age 7, provided they weigh around 30 kg and are supervised by an instructor trained to work with young learners.

Is kitesurfing a dangerous sport?

Although often seen as an extreme sport, kitesurfing carries risks that are proportional to your skill level and practice. In other words, learning to kitesurf is no more dangerous than scuba diving or paragliding.

However, like any outdoor sport that involves natural elements such as the sea and wind, kitesurfing requires proper training with professional instructors at a certified kite school in order to progress safely and independently.
