After your first kitesurfing course module, you now have good control of your kite, let’s take it to the next level!
In the Intermediate Level 2 kitesurfing courses we will learn how to relaunch the kite when it falls into the water as well as the different techniques to move in all directions with a kite. During this course we will learn how to do the famous body-drag with and without the board before we start our first waterstarts.
This level 2 kitesurfing course module is designed for those who have already taken an introduction to kitesurfing and who have mastered all the prerequisites of level 1
Always in direct contact with your instructor thanks to the radio headsets, you will never be alone in the water! The aim is to transmit the instructions and exercises to be followed by walkie-talkie, so that your instructor makes you progress in real time without wasting time.
Then it’s time to put the board on your feet and finally make your first edges.
One of the key steps in this kitesurfing course with Matos Tarifa is to perform the body-drag efficiently.
In the beginning, when you are riding, you may lose your board in front or behind you.
To recover it, it is imperative to be able to go up or down in the wind using only your kite and your body.
The body drag with the board also allows you, when there is a shore-break, to cross the zone where the waves break with the board in order to position yourself easily at the waterstart.
Do not give in to the board leash Kitesurfing, on the one hand it is strictly forbidden in the majority of federations as it represents a danger for the kitesurfer and on the other it limits strongly the progression of the kiteboarders.
Thus, it is essential to master the body-drag in all conditions to be considered as an autonomous kitesurfer.
Board at your feet, kite at the edge of the wind window, you are ready to do your first waterstart.
The aim is to create a driving pull with the movement of your kite so that you can get out of the water and start gliding smoothly.
The Steady-Pull is the key !
In order to be successful in your waterstarts, you need to have a perfect position in the water, a parallel between your shoulders, the board and the traction axis of your kite.
All your training has conditioned you to be perfectly aligned with your kite.
The kite movements are gradually initiated to enter the power zone.
